I am on vacation this week so today’s newsletter is short & sweet. Here’s a few things I’ve been cooking at our Airbnb this weekend (+ a little laugh). Will be back to regular recaps next week!

Pretzels from Sally’s Baking Addiction: these were amazing - I had never done the “boil-pre-bake” method and it is super simple but really makes the pretzels.. prezetel-y. We did them half savoury (butter & salt) and half sweet (butter & cinnamon sugar).
Condiments were Dijon beer cheese sauce from How Sweets Eats (do not use a high IBU beer like I did - you will have a very bitter sauce! A lager would be perfect) and a homemade caramel sauce .
Candied kumquats: from the archives of my site, this is one of my favourite things to make for a cheeseboard or snack board. It’s a little sweet, citrusy and complements lots of cheeses. The colour is also beautiful! We picked up a bunch of different cheeses and charcuterie from Ratinaud in downtown Halifax and had this wonderful snack board yesterday for “lunch”.
